Network of Trust

I have been engaged in a wholehearted network of trust. It happened without me being aware of what I did, it evolved without conscious attention. We have never stated its purpose, nor vision, nor mission, yet I believe we acted deliberately. We have never agreed how to join, or who was a member.

As long as it was about interacting on Twitter, engaging in conversations about work, life, and agile, organising or facilitating conferences, being curious and learning together, this approach has worked well.

Now that I’ve become independent, I want to work and do business in and with a network of trust. I want to engage to create value for people and organisations, and I want us to be paid. Therefore I think it is time to write down what I want, so that I can ask for feedback, perfection, and work.

Purpose

The purpose of this post is to engage in dialogue, to ask for feedback. Hence this is not a constitution; that could be the result of ensuing dialogue, and the perfection of ideas and wording that may bring. I’m just collecting my ideas and asking you for feedback. Please comment on what you like and what you want improved.

Currently I’m not looking for people who want to join. I want to decouple the design and setup from the question who’s in: how to become a member needs to be part of the setup.

The purpose of the network is twofold:

Outside Purpose

The network is a visible source for help for people and organisations who want to transform. A space to find wholehearted, trustworthy, independent consultants who can shift a context to improve trust and connection, to create value, to reduce the need for coercion and violence. Consultants who help you and your people and your products to flourish, and make an impact.

Inside Purpose

For the members of the network, it is a shared space of help and learning in the form of ideas, techniques, peers, an enabler of options: to collaborate and pair, to advise each other, to maximise value delivered and earned for all.

Gift economy

Members of the network do not make money off each other when ever they work together for clients. (If one member helps another personally, for instance by coaching, they can agree to be paid, of course.)

The value we create for the network and each other is shared, and free. We want the clients we help to transform to pay.

Creative Commons

Anything we develop together (preferably any intellectual property we develop) will be shared publicly with CC license.

Trust Based on Joint Experience

One idea on how to join: I’d like to use the network’s preference for pairing as a way to join: Once anyone interested in joining has paired with a sufficient number of members, the members make a consent decision.

Freedom

We grant and preserve free will. We listen to ourselves and help each other to be in the moment. We want to be very open, will allow any contribution, any idea to emerge.

The network enables and nurtures options and does not limit them in any way.

What benefits the individual benefits the network.

Non-Violence

No judgement, no labelling, no blame.

We do not need to agree on everything, we value dissent in favour of learning. We embrace failure for the benefit of improvement.

We embrace ambiguity of ideas, philosophies, mindsets, methods ….

    He Olaf,

    sounds good. And (german):

Ich habe mir über den Namen Gedanken: Trust Network oder Network of trust könnte für mich noch besser passen und deutlicher machen um was es geht.

Mir fallen sicher fünf weitere Punkte ein die so ein Netzwerk ausmachen kann. (Empathie, Gemeinsam, …) – ich werde die mal für mich ausformulieren.

    Patrick
